Channel 4 (Feb 2001)

A short interview with the band intercut with the "Loco" video. They are sitting in a hotel room in casual sweats, Huey with hood up and sunglasses on looking somewhat hungover. Everything he says sounds like he is half asleep...

PRESENTER: He is of course talking of the Fun Lovin' Criminals, so here are Huey and the rest of the boys. CUT TO LOCO, THEN BACK TO FLC.

HUEY:  We did the video because I figured anybody who ever wanted to be in a rock band and had  the chance to do a video would do it exactly the same way. And Fast came up with the idea, (PATS FAST ON SHOULDER)

FAST:  Thank you.

HUEY:  I love him for it. Mackie played timbales standing in a hot tub, and it was a lot of fun.

FAST:  It was actually - it was enjoyable, it was a challenge.

HUEY:  Yeah, it was a lot of fun, it really was. CUT TO LOCO, THEN BACK TO FLC.

HUEY:  It's a story about a er... two guys that are sitting around talking about a girl, who they think's   very beautiful, but her boyfriend had just passed away, and they're wondering if it's cool...  One of 'em wants to talk to her, the other one says "Yo, you gotta be crazy, y' know, she's,   y'know, she's in a mourning period, y'know, you gotta give her some time...to bounce back,   y'know." But er...he says, "No, no, I can tell, I can tell,". And there you have it.

FAST:  That's what it's about?

HUEY:  Mmm.

PRESENTER: So, the new Crims album, "Loco"  is released in a couple of weeks. But what can we expect?

HUEY:  A lot of stuff, a lot of different kinds of music's on the record, so hopefully er, people who like  the music will find something they like. And of course this is Mackie's first album that we recorded with him, so the drums and percussion are a very high standard - world class.

MACKIE SMILES BUT DOESN'T SAY ANYTHING (NO SURPRISE THERE THEN!)

CUT TO VIDEO WITH GIRLS SURROUNDING HUEY & PRESENTER VOICEOVER.

PRESENTER: As you can see, it's no surprise Huey has a bit of a reputation as a ladies' man.  Isn't that right, Huey?

CUT BACK TO FLC, FAST LAUGHING HYSTERICALLY  AT THE QUESTION.

HUEY:  I don't think about stuff like that. I...y'know, my opinion of myself is worth more than other  people's opinion of myself, so then...y'know.

PRESENTER: OK, but you must be enjoying the fame.

HUEY:  You know, it's kinda cool we don't pay to get into clubs. (PULLS DE NIRO STYLE FACE)

PRESENTER: And when can we expect to see you onstage again?

FAST:  You know, we're playing like the UK in March.

HUEY:  Yeah, it starts in Dublin and then we er...cross some borders, which is the tricky part, and  then er...we cross some more borders which is another tricky part...but the gigs are gonna be  fine, y'know, we got a lot of pyrotechnics...big Britney Spears photo behind us..

PRESENTER: If nothing else, that's a great advert for an early night, isn't it!
