Press Release:

MILLER GENUINE DRAFT SIGNS FUN LOVIN' CRIMINALS ADVERTISING WORLD FIRST

Huey, 'Fast' and Mackie, better known as those crazy, streetwise Fun Lovin' Criminals (FLC) are set to star in a new TV and cinema ad for Miller Genuine Draft (MGD) ñ one of American's biggest selling lager brands. This deal makes history as Scottish Courage, who brew and market MGD in the UK, is the first ever company to sign a band to appear in a beer commercial.

Breaking on terrestrial TV (including UTV in Ulster) on Friday 1 December, the "Traffic Jam" ad is set on the steamy, gridlocked streets of the band's home city, New York. The ad opens on the FLC drinking bottles of MGD in the back of a pick-up stuck in a traffic jam. Much to the band's frustration, the vehicle is clearly going nowhere fast so Huey decides it's time to liven things up. Downing his MGD, Huey quietly announces "It's Miller Time!"?.and the party begins.

Kerr Arthur, Marketing Manager for Miller brands at Scottish Courage, said:"As the ultimate purveyors of 'New York Cool', the Fun Lovin' Criminals were a natural choice to illustrate the spontaneous fun and 'urban credibility' of Miller Genuine Draft. "

The ad premieres a new and previously unheard FLC track and we are delighted with the result of the collaboration between the band and the brand."

MGD is one of American's most popular lagers and one of the UK's top five premium packaged lagers. Under licence from the Miller Brewing Company, Scottish Courage brew and market MGD for the UK. Introduced to the UK in 1992, MGD is Miller Brewing's leading international brand, selling more than 100 million cases per year in some 80 countries around the world.
